The NSF was among three bikers convicted and penalised by Malaysian authorities for engaging in illegal racing activities on the Second Link, which connects Malaysia and Singapore. Court proceedings resulted in fines being imposed on all three riders involved in the incident.
The Defence Ministry noted that the incident underscores expectations placed on Singapore's service personnel regarding their conduct abroad. A spokesman stated that all NSF members are required to adhere to the laws and regulations of any country they travel to or visit, regardless of circumstances.
The Second Link, formally known as the Sultan Iskandar Bridge, is a major transport route between Johor Bahru and Singapore's western coast. The incident highlights ongoing concerns about road safety and traffic violations on the critical cross-border highway.
This case reflects broader efforts by both Malaysian and Singapore authorities to enforce traffic regulations and maintain safety standards on shared transportation infrastructure.
