NTA Bans Coaching Centre Owner's Son from NEET-UG for Two Years

The National Test Agency (NTA) has imposed a two-year debarment on a student from a Latur-based coaching centre following allegations of misconduct related to the NEET-UG examination paper leak. The action comes as the Central Bureau of Investigation continues its probe into an alleged conspiracy to illegally obtain examination questions.

According to CBI investigators, Shivraj Motegaonkar, the owner of the coaching centre, allegedly paid ₹5 lakh to procure chemistry questions for the test. The investigative agency claims that P.V. Kulkarni, a member of the NTA's question-setting panel, provided the advance questions in exchange for the payment.

The two-year ban prevents the debarred student from appearing in the NEET-UG examination during this period. The NTA's decision marks an intensification of efforts to address irregularities that have affected the credibility of the medical entrance examination.

The paper leak scandal has drawn significant scrutiny from authorities and raised concerns about the integrity of the national-level entrance examination system. The CBI's investigation is continuing to identify other individuals involved in the alleged conspiracy to compromise examination security.
