NTA enlists AICTE to identify govt institutions for NEET exam centres

The National Test Agency (NTA) has initiated a coordinated effort with the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) to identify government institutions capable of serving as examination centres for NEET-UG on a computer-based testing platform.

Under this exercise, AICTE has begun soliciting comprehensive information from government institutions regarding their technological capabilities. The survey seeks details on IT infrastructure, the number of functional computers available, and adequate physical space required to accommodate test-takers during the examination process.

This mapping initiative represents an expansion of the existing examination infrastructure as the NTA continues to operationalize computer-based testing for the medical entrance examination. The move aims to enhance accessibility and capacity across multiple examination centres nationwide.

The coordination between NTA and AICTE underscores efforts to standardize and decentralize the testing network, potentially reducing logistical bottlenecks and allowing more candidates to access examination facilities closer to their locations. The comprehensive infrastructure audit will help identify which government institutions meet the technical and spatial requirements for hosting secure, standardized testing environments.
