NTK candidate held after blocking Tamil Nadu CM's campaign roadshow

A candidate representing the Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) was taken into custody after allegedly obstructing Chief Minister M.K. Stalin's roadshow in Tamil Nadu on Wednesday. The incident occurred as the DMK leader's campaign vehicle moved through a constituency, with party workers attempting to block the convoy's passage.

Police moved quickly to disperse the protesters and arrested the NTK candidate at the scene. Officers cited obstruction of public movement and disruption of scheduled political activities as grounds for the detention.

The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam has strongly objected to the arrest, characterizing it as excessive use of state authority against opposition voices. Party officials argued that peaceful protest and democratic dissent should not invite police action of this nature.

The incident underscores ongoing tensions between rival political groupings during the election season in Tamil Nadu. Such confrontations between competing parties' campaign operations have become increasingly common as various formations jostle for electoral advantage across the state's constituencies.
