NTPC Limited is currently assessing 34 potential sites spread across 13 states for development of nuclear power capacity, targeting the addition of 30 GW by 2030 as part of its long-term growth strategy. The evaluation of these locations represents a critical component of the power major's expansion into nuclear generation amid India's push toward decarbonization and energy security.
Beyond its near-term nuclear target, NTPC is charting an even more ambitious trajectory with plans to develop 149 GW of capacity by 2032 across its diverse energy portfolio. This expansion encompasses multiple generation technologies and storage solutions, positioning the company at the forefront of India's energy transition.
The company has earmarked approximately ₹16.86 trillion in capital expenditure through FY37 to support its generation and storage businesses. This substantial investment reflects NTPC's commitment to modernizing India's power infrastructure and meeting the nation's growing electricity demand while transitioning toward cleaner energy sources.
