National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) has cancelled the contract awarded to GR Infraprojects for developing a 400-MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project at the Mouda Super Thermal Power Station in Maharashtra, according to an official announcement by the power utility.
The termination of the Rs 400 crore contract represents a significant development in NTPC's energy storage expansion plans. Battery storage systems have become increasingly important for grid stability and renewable energy integration in India's evolving power sector landscape.
