NTR district launches Operation Trishul to tackle drugs, crimes and accidents

District Collector G. Lakshmisha has launched Operation Trishul, a comprehensive public safety programme targeting three critical areas of concern in NTR district of Andhra Pradesh. The initiative brings together officials from the Medical and Health Department, Police, Women Development and Child Welfare departments, along with representatives from other key agencies, to implement coordinated interventions.

The operation focuses on combating drug usage, reducing crimes against women, and preventing road accidents through combined enforcement and preventive measures. Lakshmisha highlighted that the multi-agency approach would enable more effective implementation of existing regulations and monitoring mechanisms across the district.

Under the programme, health department officials are expected to strengthen de-addiction services and drug awareness campaigns, while police will intensify enforcement against drug trafficking and related criminal activities. The Women Development and Child Welfare Department will enhance support mechanisms for victims and undertake prevention-focused initiatives.

Road safety will be addressed through coordinated traffic enforcement and public awareness drives aimed at reducing accident-related fatalities and injuries. The operation represents an effort to synchronize resources across departments to address interconnected public safety challenges affecting communities across the district.
