CALAPAN CITY — Occidental Mindoro has released P25.7268 million from its Quick Response Fund (QRF) to support immediate assistance and recovery operations following widespread flooding and weather damage across the province, according to the Philippine Information Agency in Mimaropa.
The emergency allocation was announced Tuesday as preliminary assessments indicate weather-related damage totaling over P2 billion throughout Occidental Mindoro. The province activated emergency response protocols to address the impacts on communities and infrastructure.
The QRF deployment represents the initial tranche of government support aimed at providing relief to affected residents and facilitating recovery efforts in the shortest possible timeframe. Provincial authorities are coordinating with local government units to ensure resources reach vulnerable communities.
Further assistance and supplementary funding mechanisms may be mobilized as damage assessments continue across affected areas of the province.
