CALAPAN CITY — Occidental Mindoro is set to establish its first dedicated chemotherapy center as the Prime Care Mamburao Chemotherapy Center prepares to launch operations in the municipality of Mamburao.

Local government officials announced the planned facility will provide comprehensive chemotherapy services to cancer patients from Mamburao and surrounding municipalities throughout the province. The development marks a significant step in expanding healthcare access to provincial residents who previously had limited options for specialized cancer treatment.

The new center is expected to reduce the financial and logistical burden on cancer patients and their families who currently must travel outside Occidental Mindoro to access chemotherapy services. Officials have indicated the facility will offer a range of oncology services, though a complete list of treatments has yet to be disclosed.

The establishment of the chemotherapy center reflects efforts by provincial authorities to strengthen the region's healthcare infrastructure and address growing medical needs across the province.
