Octopus Ventures and KPN Ventures, the investment arm of Netherlands telecom major KPN, have committed $38 million (approximately Rs 361 crore) to Braid in a Series A funding round, signalling growing investor confidence in the embedded connectivity sector.
Braid, established in 2023, has built a technology platform enabling enterprises to integrate branded mobile connectivity directly into their applications and digital services without requiring telecom operator licenses. The company currently serves nearly 90 enterprise customers spanning global fintech and travel sectors.
The Amsterdam-based firm said it has already achieved profitability and positive cash flow, positioning it ahead of many venture-backed startups at a similar stage. The fresh capital will primarily fund international market expansion, strengthen relationships with telecommunications carriers, and accelerate development of its embedded mobile infrastructure capabilities.
The platform addresses a growing market need for businesses seeking to offer seamless connectivity experiences to customers without managing complex telecom operations independently. The investment underscores rising appetite among institutional investors for infrastructure solutions catering to digital transformation across Asia-Pacific and European markets.
