The Odisha Housing and Urban Development Department has announced a fresh timeline for receiving appeals against the provisional notification issued for ward delimitation and seat reservation in the state's urban local body elections. The extended window allows citizens and interested parties to submit their objections between October 7 and October 21, 2026, providing nearly three weeks for public feedback on the proposed boundaries and reserved seats.

The state government has scheduled a dedicated period to examine and dispose of all appeals filed during this window. The department will hear and decide on the objections between October 26 and October 28, 2026, ensuring a rapid turnaround for addressing public concerns. This expedited disposal mechanism aims to maintain the election timeline while allowing sufficient opportunity for stakeholder representation.
