Odisha has handed over land documents spanning more than 7,000 acres across Sundargarh and Rayagada districts for a joint venture between Adani Group and International Resources Holdings (IRH). The state accomplished the documentation process within 70 days of signing the memorandum of understanding, signaling rapid administrative coordination for the $11.5 billion project.
The integrated aluminium complex represents a major industrial investment for the eastern state, which has positioned itself as a manufacturing hub for mineral-dependent industries. The project is expected to leverage Odisha's abundant bauxite reserves and established infrastructure in the mining and metallurgy sectors.
The accelerated land acquisition process reflects the state government's commitment to streamlining approvals for large-scale infrastructure projects. Adani-IRH's initiative joins several other major industrial ventures the state has fast-tracked in recent years as it seeks to diversify its economic base beyond traditional sectors.
The complex will undertake mining, refining, and aluminium production operations at the site, potentially creating significant employment opportunities in both districts. The project's execution timeline and investment scale underscore growing industrial interest in Odisha's resource-rich regions and the state's improving business environment.
