Olongapo City battles severe flooding as river levels surge past critical thresholds

Several districts across Olongapo City in Zambales were submerged in floodwaters Friday night as heavy rainfall continued to swell the city's river systems. The city's Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office reported that water levels had reached critical heights at two major crossing points by 6:30 p.m., with depths of approximately 4 meters recorded beneath both the Del Rosario and Sta. Rita bridges.

The rising water levels represent a significant flood threat to the densely populated city, which sits in a low-lying coastal area prone to waterlogging during heavy rains and storm surge events.
