Only Congress can defeat BJP, PM told me: Rahul Gandhi

Rahul Gandhi claimed on Wednesday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had privately acknowledged Congress as the sole political force capable of defeating the BJP, citing the remark as evidence of the party's political significance.

"When we go, you will come," Gandhi quoted the Prime Minister as saying, characterizing the statement as an indirect admission of the Congress party's electoral strength and relevance in Indian politics.

Gandhi also highlighted the growing traction of his campaign against alleged electoral irregularities, which he termed 'vote chori' or vote theft. He claimed that public belief in the issue has surged dramatically, from approximately 20 percent in earlier phases to over 80 percent currently.

"The party should raise this issue more strongly," Gandhi said, urging the Congress to amplify its messaging around electoral integrity concerns. The statement reflected his push for the party to make institutional electoral practices a central plank of its political campaign.

The remarks came as Congress intensifies its challenge to the ruling BJP ahead of future electoral contests, with Gandhi positioning the party as the primary opposition force capable of mobilizing public opinion on governance and electoral transparency issues.
