Opposition Coalition Backs Delhi Rally; Calls for Poll Chief's Resignation

The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) has announced its support for a major opposition rally scheduled to be held at Delhi's Ramlila Ground on November 1st, organised by the INDIA bloc of opposition parties.

In a statement accompanying its endorsement, the CJP called for the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, citing concerns over the integrity of the electoral process. The party alleged that actions by the election commission, particularly regarding the Socio-Economic Register (SER), have undermined public confidence in the fairness and independence of India's electoral system.

The opposition's demands reflect broader concerns among coalition partners about the conduct of elections and the autonomy of constitutional institutions. The CJP's backing adds to the momentum building around the November 1st gathering, which is expected to see participation from multiple opposition parties critical of the current government's policies.

The Chief Election Commissioner's office has not yet responded to the resignation demands. The rally is anticipated to draw significant participation as opposition parties seek to consolidate their base ahead of upcoming electoral contests.
