Opposition leaders rally against alleged corporate misconduct in Kuala Lumpur
More than 150 opposition politicians and activists gathered outside a major shopping centre to demand government action against what they described as corporate wrongdoing and to call for the release of detained activists.

A coalition of opposition figures staged a demonstration in central Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday, bringing together party leaders and civil society members to voice concerns over alleged corporate misconduct and activist detention.
The gathering drew approximately 150 participants, including Wong Chen from Bersama Malaysia, Raja Ahmad Iskandar Fareez, vice-chief of DAP Youth, and Ronnie Liu, information chief of Parti Bumiputera Maju. The protesters assembled outside a prominent shopping centre in the capital to amplify their calls for government intervention.
The demonstration reflected growing pressure from opposition quarters for stronger regulatory action against what organisers characterised as predatory corporate practices. Activists also seized the opportunity to demand the release of detained protesters and advocates, framing their concerns as part of a broader push for accountability and transparency in Malaysia's business sector.
The rally underscored ongoing tensions between opposition groups and the government over issues of corporate oversight, civil liberties, and the treatment of activism in the country. Opposition leaders have increasingly used public demonstrations to mobilise support around these concerns ahead of potential policy discussions.
