Opposition proposes renaming Putrajaya Hospital after Dr Hasmah

The opposition coalition Perikatan Nasional (PN) has put forward a proposal to name Putrajaya Hospital after Dr Hasmah, according to opposition leader Hamzah Zainudin.

Hamzah said the coalition would pursue the naming initiative should PN secure electoral victory and form the next federal government. The proposal reflects the opposition's broader vision for how it would approach governance and institutional naming conventions.

The suggestion comes as Malaysian political parties continue to outline their policy platforms ahead of electoral opportunities. PN has been actively presenting various proposals it says would benefit the nation under its administration.

Putrajaya Hospital represents a significant healthcare infrastructure project for the federal territory. The naming of major public institutions typically requires government approval and is often used to honor notable figures in Malaysian public life.

PN's proposal adds to the coalition's growing list of initiatives it has pledged to implement should it gain political power in future electoral contests.
