Optimo Capital strengthens board with former RBI Chief General Manager

Optimo Capital, a non-banking finance company based in Bengaluru, announced Thursday that it has appointed Shrimohan Yadav as an independent director on its board of directors.

Yadav brings decades of regulatory experience from his tenure at the RBI, where he served as Chief General Manager in the department of regulation. During his tenure, he oversaw critical functions including the licensing and ownership frameworks for private sector banks, small finance banks, and payments banks. He also managed bank acquisitions, restructuring initiatives, and governance matters across India's banking sector.

In his new role at Optimo Capital, Yadav will advise the board on governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance matters. He will also serve on select board committees charged with overseeing key operational areas. Beyond this appointment, Yadav holds independent director positions on the boards of a leading small finance bank and several other non-banking financial companies, and serves as a senior advisor to prominent financial services firms.

The appointment comes as Optimo Capital pursues an ambitious growth trajectory. The company aims to expand its assets under management to Rs 1,200 crore by the end of March 2027, up from its current level of Rs 441 crore. The company said Yadav's extensive experience in banking regulation and governance will prove instrumental in achieving this expansion while maintaining robust compliance standards.
