Oriental Mindoro maintains comfortable power buffer amid summer demand
The Oriental Mindoro power grid maintained a healthy reserve margin of 29.34 megawatts as of early Sunday, according to the National Transmission Corp. Control Center. The province's electricity supply continues to comfortably exceed current consumption levels.

CALAPAN CITY — Oriental Mindoro's power infrastructure demonstrated sufficient capacity to meet consumer demand, with available reserves providing a comfortable safety margin for the island province.
Data from the National Transmission Corp. (TransCo)-Mindoro Control Center showed the grid maintained total dependable capacity of 71.41 megawatts against provincial electricity demand measured at 42.07 megawatts as of 6 a.m. on Sunday, August 30.
The resulting power reserve of 29.34 megawatts represented approximately 41 percent surplus capacity over current demand levels, indicating the grid's ability to accommodate consumption fluctuations without strain.
The healthy reserve margin provides operational flexibility for TransCo's dispatch operations and suggests adequate resources to manage peak demand periods typical during summer months in the region.
