Oriental Mindoro records 18 incidents during All Saints' Day holiday period

CALAPAN CITY — The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) in Oriental Mindoro has recorded 18 untoward incidents during the four-day Undas holiday season, as residents traveled to observe All Saints' and All Souls' Days.

According to PDRRMO data covering October 30 to November 2, road accidents comprised the majority of incidents, with 15 vehicular collisions reported throughout the province. The incidents also included one maritime incident and two cases involving individuals who were injured or fell ill during the period.

The PDRRMO did not provide further details on the severity of the incidents or the circumstances surrounding each case. However, the data underscores ongoing concerns about public safety during peak travel periods in the region, particularly as residents make annual pilgrimages to cemeteries and conduct family gatherings during the Undas observance.

Officials have not announced specific preventive measures or safety advisories resulting from the incident reports.
