CALAPAN CITY — Oriental Mindoro authorities have issued a price recommendation of P180 to P192 per kilogram for live hogs, seeking to establish a transparent reference point for commercial transactions in the provincial livestock sector.

The price guidance was formalized through Executive Order No. 58, series of 2026, issued by the provincial government. Officials framed the measure as an effort to bring greater predictability to hog trading activities involving farmers, middlemen and commercial buyers operating within the region.

The recommended price range is intended to reflect current market conditions while providing a standardized benchmark that stakeholders can reference during negotiations. Provincial authorities indicated the measure supports efforts to ensure fair dealing across the supply chain.

Oriental Mindoro, a significant hog-producing region in the MIMAROPA area, has sought to strengthen coordination among livestock industry participants through various policy initiatives. The latest price recommendation aligns with the provincial government's broader agenda of enhancing market transparency in the agricultural sector.
