OTS steps up security measures at PITX ahead of Undas travel rush

MANILA—The Office for Transportation Security (OTS) carried out a security assessment at the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) on Thursday, October 29, as part of preparations for heightened travel demand during Undas 2026.

The inspection included a detailed walk-through of the terminal facilities, with OTS personnel evaluating security protocols and reviewing the readiness of security staff stationed at the hub. Officials also distributed emergency go bags to selected passengers as part of their security and safety operations.

The proactive security check reflects efforts by authorities to ensure smooth operations and passenger safety at one of the country's major transportation hubs during the traditionally busy Undas period, when Filipinos travel to visit cemeteries and celebrate the lives of deceased family members.

PITX serves as a central transit point for long-distance bus services and other ground transportation, making security inspections particularly important during peak travel seasons when passenger volumes substantially increase.
