OTT platforms democratising opportunities for female actors: Bajpayee

Manoj Bajpayee has underscored the transformative impact of over-the-top platforms on the landscape of Hindi cinema, particularly in how they are reshaping opportunities for female actors. Speaking on the evolution of women's roles in Indian film and television, Bajpayee noted that streaming services have emerged as significant enablers of change in an industry historically constrained by conventional casting patterns.

The actor highlighted the contributions of established performers such as Vidya Balan and Kajol, whose work on digital platforms demonstrates the calibre of talent now gravitating towards OTT productions. These actresses have leveraged streaming services to take on roles that offer greater complexity and narrative prominence than those traditionally available in mainstream cinema, Bajpayee observed.
