BAGUIO CITY — The Philippine Military Academy has cleared 1,216 aspiring military officers who passed the institution's entrance examinations this year, officials said Thursday. The successful candidates comprised 4.78 percent of the 25,452 qualified applicants who took the exams across 48 testing centers nationwide from July through September 2026, according to Navy Lt. Commdr Jermaine B. Dacanay, acting chief of the academy's admissions office. The highly competitive entrance process reflects the selective nature of the country's premier military training institution, which prepares officers for careers in the Armed Forces of the Philippines. The academy, located in Baguio City, continues to draw thousands of young Filipinos annually seeking to pursue military service. Further details regarding the next stages of the enrollment process and reporting dates for successful candidates were expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
