COTABATO CITY — Coordinated rescue operations conducted by the Bangsamoro Ministry of Labor and Employment (MOLE) have freed at least 120 children from exploitative labor situations in Cotabato City and Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao del Norte, officials announced.
The children, who had been forced into work due to economic hardship affecting their families, were identified and extracted from their labor situations through targeted enforcement efforts by MOLE teams deployed to the region.
The rescues underscore persistent child labor challenges across the BARMM, where poverty continues to drive families toward exploitative arrangements. Authorities did not provide additional details regarding the specific types of labor involved or the immediate disposition of the rescued minors.
The operation reflects ongoing efforts by regional labor authorities to identify and protect children vulnerable to exploitation throughout the autonomous region.
