Over 300 flood victims sheltering at evacuation centres in Sungai Buloh

KUALA LUMPUR — A total of 306 flood victims from 59 families are currently being accommodated at three evacuation centres following inundation in the Sungai Buloh area, authorities said on Monday.

The displaced residents were moved to the temporary shelters as floodwaters from the overflowing Sungai Buloh river inundated residential areas, forcing families to abandon their homes. The relief centres have been activated to provide essential support and provisions to those affected by the flooding.

Localauthorities are managing the evacuation centres and coordinating relief operations to assist the displaced residents. The shelters are equipped with basic amenities to support the evacuees during their stay.

Rescue and recovery operations remain ongoing as flood waters recede, with authorities assessing damage to affected residential properties and infrastructure. Residents are expected to return to their homes once it is deemed safe to do so and necessary cleanup operations have been completed.
