KUALA LUMPUR — A record number of athletes participated in the IHH Sky Race at Menara Merdeka 118 this past weekend, ascending all 118 floors of the capital's tallest building in a demonstration of endurance and determination.
The sky race, which challenges participants to race vertically through the tower, attracted more than 8,000 runners competing across multiple categories. The event showcased the growing popularity of vertical running events in Malaysia and the region, drawing both amateur and experienced athletes.
Menara Merdeka 118, which stands at 678.9 metres, has become an increasingly popular venue for such athletic challenges. The tower's distinctive height makes it an ideal setting for testing competitors' stamina and mental fortitude in a demanding uphill sprint.
