P100-M sports complex project in Dinagat Islands moves forward

SAN FRANCISCO, Agusan del Sur — The long-planned sports complex for Dinagat Islands province has advanced significantly following a site inspection led by Philippine Sports Commission Chairman Patrick Gregorio on Monday.

Gregorio toured the proposed facility location alongside Dinagat Islands Governor Nilo Demerey Jr. and other local government officials. The inspection marks a key step in evaluating the viability of the P100-million infrastructure project, which aims to develop competitive sporting facilities in the province.

Provincial leaders have prioritized the sports complex as part of broader efforts to enhance regional athletic capabilities and community recreational amenities. The facility, once completed, would serve as a venue for various sporting events and training programs.

The PSC's participation in the site assessment signals growing institutional support for the initiative. The inspection findings are expected to inform the next phase of planning and development for the proposed complex.
