CALAPAN CITY — The P300-million Balogo Port project in Marinduque is on track for completion in June 2027, promising to enhance sea travel accessibility for residents of Santa Cruz and Torrijos municipalities.
According to Marinduque's lone district representative Reynaldo Salvacion, the new port facility will serve as an alternative to the existing Balanacan Port in Mogpog. The infrastructure investment is designed to reduce travel time and transportation costs for residents and goods moving through the province.
The port development represents a significant infrastructure initiative aimed at improving interisland connectivity in the region. Officials anticipate the facility will streamline maritime operations and provide residents with greater flexibility in choosing departure points for sea travel.
The project marks part of broader efforts to strengthen transportation networks across the Mimaropa region, supporting both passenger movement and commercial shipping activities. Completion in mid-2027 would place the port among recent infrastructure additions enhancing regional connectivity in South and Southeast Asia.
