Concerns have been raised over how RM130.8 million in bail funds were invested in the name of an e-Jamin operator, according to findings presented to the Public Accounts Committee (PAC). The questioning of these financial arrangements comes amid revelations that the bail system operator functioned without a formal contractual agreement with the government since 2020. PAC member Mas Ermieyati highlighted the irregularity, suggesting a lack of proper oversight during the period when the platform continued its operations. The investment structure raises questions about accountability and the safeguarding of public funds entrusted to the private operator. Authorities have not yet disclosed details regarding the circumstances that led to the continuation of e-Jamin's services without a formal agreement, or whether steps have been taken to regularise the arrangement. The findings are part of the committee's ongoing scrutiny of government-linked financial operations and the management of public resources.
