The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) warned residents and commuters to prepare for hazardous weather conditions as a thunderstorm advisory took effect Tuesday afternoon. Heavy to intense rains are forecast to affect Metro Manila and several areas across Luzon as isolated thunderstorms move through the region.

Pagesa issued the alert at 1:55 p.m., advising the public to exercise caution in flood-prone areas and near waterways. The state weather service recommended that residents monitor weather updates closely and avoid unnecessary travel in affected areas during the heaviest rainfall.

Localized thunderstorms can develop rapidly and bring torrential downpours within short periods, potentially causing flash flooding in low-lying communities and along major waterways. Motorists are advised to drive with extra care on wet roads, while residents in vulnerable areas are urged to stay alert for weather updates from official sources.
