KUANTAN, Oct 13 — Examination bodies have confirmed that the Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) and Malaysian University English Test (MUET) will take place as planned in Pahang, with no postponement despite deteriorating air quality from regional haze.

The commitment to maintain the examination schedule reflects efforts to minimise disruption to students' academic calendars. Authorities have stated that examination centres are equipped with necessary measures to ensure the safety and comfort of candidates.

The decision to proceed comes at a time when several Malaysian states have grappled with hazardous air quality indices, prompting closures of schools and postponements of outdoor activities. However, indoor examination venues are expected to provide adequate protection for test-takers.

Education stakeholders in the state have been advised to monitor air quality updates and follow official guidance regarding the examinations. Students are encouraged to take necessary precautions while travelling to and from examination centres during the haze period.
