Pakatan Harapan needs grassroots strength, not just new alliances: analyst

KUALA LUMPUR — Political analyst Ahmad Fauzi Abdul Hamid has urged Pakatan Harapan (PH) to focus on strengthening its grassroots machinery rather than relying solely on forging new political alliances, warning that structural weakness at the community level could undermine broader coalition efforts.

According to Fauzi, PH's capacity to expand electoral support, particularly among Malay voters, depends fundamentally on the robustness of its ground organization and the consistency of leadership messaging. The coalition, he suggested, must invest in building durable grassroots networks that can sustain voter engagement beyond election cycles.

"Without a solid foundation at the grassroots level, new partnerships alone will not translate into meaningful electoral gains," Fauzi's assessment indicated. The analyst's remarks underscore ongoing challenges faced by the opposition coalition in consolidating support across different demographic segments.
