Pakistan announces squad for Hong Kong series; Afridi named captain

Pakistan's cricket team is gearing up for the Hong Kong Sixes tournament with Abbas Afridi appointed as captain for the competition. The announcement comes as preparations intensify for the squad's departure scheduled for October 28.

All matches in the tournament will be held at the Tin Kwong Road Recreation Ground in Hong Kong. The tournament structure will see Pakistan take on several opponents, including a notable encounter against India during the competition.

The Hong Kong Sixes format, known for its shorter and more explosive cricket format, will provide participating teams with an opportunity to showcase their skills in a condensed tournament setting. Pakistan's selection of Afridi as captain reflects confidence in his ability to lead the side through the competition's demands.

With the October 28 departure date confirmed, the Pakistani team will have limited time for final preparations before engaging in matches at the Hong Kong venue. The tournament is expected to draw significant attention given the participation of major cricket-playing nations in the region.
