The three-nation alliance framework between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey contains provisions that effectively bind the signatories for a minimum of 10 years, according to details of the accord. The pact's exit mechanism requires any member state wishing to withdraw to provide written notice of at least three months and 10 days before departure becomes effective.
Crucially, the 10-year binding period does not commence from the date the agreement was signed. Instead, it begins only when the final instrument of ratification is formally deposited with the alliance's secretariat. This distinction means the actual duration of commitment depends on when member states complete their respective domestic ratification procedures.
The extended notice period embedded in the agreement suggests the three nations view this partnership as a significant long-term strategic arrangement. The requirement for advance notification appears designed to prevent precipitous withdrawals that could destabilize the alliance's objectives and collective initiatives.
The pact represents a significant diplomatic alignment among the three major Muslim-majority nations, covering matters of regional interest. The formal ratification process is currently underway across the member states' respective governments.
