Pakistan seeks neutral venue for Asian Hockey Champions Trophy
Pakistan's hockey federation has formally requested the Asian Hockey Federation to relocate the Asian Champions Trophy from India to a neutral country, citing tensions between the two nations and security concerns.

The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has written to the Asian Hockey Federation requesting a shift of the men's Asian Champions Trophy to a neutral venue, or alternatively, the relocation of all Pakistani matches away from India.
PHF President Mohyuddin Ahmed Wani cited the "sensitive bilateral situation" between Pakistan and India and prevailing security conditions as the primary reasons for the request. The federation said it wanted to ensure the country's uninterrupted and full participation in the tournament.
"The decision has been taken in view of the current sensitive bilateral situation between Pakistan and India and the prevailing security conditions, with the aim of ensuring a safe, dignified and conducive environment for the national players and officials," Wani said in a statement.
The Asian Champions Trophy is a premier continental hockey competition held in Asia. The request comes amid ongoing diplomatic tensions between the two South Asian neighbours. The PHF's move reflects concerns about the participation and safety of its contingent in India amid the strained relations.
