The Border Security Force (BSF) arrested a Pakistani national identified as Nazir after he crossed the international border in the Jammu sector, officials said. The apprehension was made during routine border patrol operations in the region.

Nazir is currently in BSF custody where interrogation is underway to determine the circumstances of the border crossing. Investigators are working to establish whether the incursion was unintentional or a deliberate attempt to probe security vulnerabilities along the frontier.

Authorities are also examining whether the crossing had any connection to potential terror-related activities or was designed to test the alertness of troops stationed along the sensitive India-Pakistan border. The investigation is expected to clarify the motivations behind the incident.

The arrest comes as the border region remains a focus area for security agencies monitoring cross-border movements. Such intrusions are routinely investigated to assess any wider security implications for the region.
