Palace rejects VP replacement speculation as Marcos focuses on governance

The Palace rejected speculation about potential replacements for Vice President Sara Duterte during a press briefing in Bukidnon on Thursday, emphasizing that discussion of a successor would be inappropriate at this stage.

"It is premature to discuss her successor," a Palace official stated during the event held at Northern Bukidnon State College as part of the Presidential Communications Office's outreach program.

The statement comes amid ongoing impeachment proceedings against Duterte, whose tenure as vice president has become increasingly contentious. The Palace's position underscores the administration's desire to keep the focus on governance rather than engage in discussions about potential leadership changes.

President Marcos has maintained his commitment to administrative priorities despite the political turbulence surrounding his running mate. The office's stance signals that the administration does not intend to entertain succession scenarios while legal proceedings against the vice president remain active.
