The Palace on Thursday directed authorities to pursue criminal charges against individuals who orchestrated the creation of false testimonies during the probe into the flood control matter. Presidential spokesperson Claire Conde said those found culpable should face appropriate legal consequences, emphasizing that whoever masterminded the fabrication of evidence should be held accountable.

The statement came as investigators continued examining the authenticity of witness statements submitted as part of the government's inquiry into the flood control scandal. Authorities have been working to determine the extent of the alleged falsification and identify all parties involved in producing the fraudulent testimonies.

The Palace's directive underscores the administration's commitment to maintaining the integrity of official investigations and ensuring that those who obstruct justice through the creation of false evidence face prosecution. Officials stressed that the probe would continue unimpeded regardless of complications arising from the discovery of fabricated statements.
