Palaniswami disputes Vijay's claims over 'Gem' Veeramani arrest

Former Chief Minister O. Palaniswami on Tuesday refuted allegations made by actor and politician Vijay regarding the arrest of 'Gem' Veeramani, clarifying that the action was carried out solely on the directive of a special court and not on political grounds.
Palaniswami stated that Vijay's claims misrepresented the facts surrounding the arrest. According to the former Chief Minister, the detention followed a specific court order and was not a result of executive decision-making by the previous government.
The former Chief Minister also leveled accusations at the current ruling government, asserting that it was shielding the accused from further prosecution. He suggested that the state administration was taking steps to protect the individual involved in the case.
