Pampanga business leader urges creation of regional flood task force

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, PAMPANGA — A senior fellow of the Pampanga Business Circle has advocated for the creation of a Central Luzon Flood Management Task Force to address recurring flooding challenges in the region. Renato Romero, a longtime private sector representative, said the multisectoral body would review and integrate existing flood control initiatives into a comprehensive, long-term master plan grounded in scientific methodology.
The proposal comes as Central Luzon continues to grapple with seasonal flooding that affects thousands of residents and disrupts economic activity across the region. Current flood management efforts remain fragmented across various municipalities and agencies, with limited coordination between jurisdictions.
