The Pampanga River began overflowing on Thursday, triggering a rapid expansion of flood-affected areas across the province. By Friday, the number of submerged villages had climbed to 276, up significantly from 234 recorded just two days earlier, underscoring the accelerating pace of the disaster.
The deluge has impacted 19 towns and cities throughout Pampanga, with authorities reporting that 307,879 families—representing approximately 982,100 individuals—are currently dealing with the consequences of the overflow. The scale of displacement and disruption continues to evolve as water levels remain elevated across multiple municipalities.
Local officials in the City of San Fernando and surrounding jurisdictions have been coordinating response efforts as communities grapple with the expanding inundation. The persistent overflow of the Pampanga River underscores the vulnerability of low-lying areas in the region during heavy rainfall periods and the challenges faced by residents in flood-prone zones.
