Panchkula girl discharged after week-long hospital battle following assault

The young student from Government Model School in Panchkula was attacked by a Class III pupil at the institution, suffering injuries from repeated stone strikes. After receiving extended medical care at the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGI) in Chandigarh, the girl has returned home with her parents.

The incident triggered concern in the community about school safety and the circumstances surrounding the assault. Medical staff at PGI treated the child's injuries over the eight-day hospitalization period, with doctors ultimately clearing her for discharge.

Social welfare advocate Anil Thappar announced his commitment to sponsor the girl's complete education following the traumatic incident. The gesture aims to provide support to the family as the child recovers from the physical and emotional impact of the attack.

The case has raised questions about supervision and disciplinary measures at the school, with parents and community members seeking assurances regarding student safety on campus.
