Pangasinan tree-planting group wins ASEAN recognition for forest restoration

CALASIAO, Pangasinan — A local environmental organization has garnered regional recognition for its efforts to restore forest cover in Pangasinan province. The Pangasinan Native Trees Enthusiasts Inc. (PangNTE) received commendation from the ASEAN Center for Biodiversity (ACB) for reforesting Daang Kalikasan in Mangatarem town with native tree seedlings.
The ACB praised the group for implementing a restoration initiative that demonstrates the tangible impact of collaborative conservation work. The project focused on replanting native species to rehabilitate the previously degraded forest area.
