Paras Health, a multispecialty hospital operator, has outlined its capital allocation strategy following its recently concluded initial public offering. The company plans to earmark ₹375 crore of IPO proceeds to reduce its existing debt burden, while channelling remaining capital towards operational expansion and working capital requirements.
The ₹1,450-crore IPO comprised two components: a ₹500-crore fresh equity issuance to raise new capital for the company and a ₹950-crore offer for sale representing existing shareholder divestment. The fundraising underscores investor appetite for healthcare infrastructure in India's expanding medical services sector.
Paras Health's expansion roadmap includes development of 800 new beds across multiple facilities. The company is prioritising projects in Gurugram, the National Capital Region's major business hub, and Ludhiana in Punjab, tapping demand for tertiary care services in both regions. These initiatives are expected to strengthen the chain's presence across north India's growing healthcare market.
The debt reduction strategy reflects the company's intent to improve its balance sheet metrics and financial flexibility for future growth initiatives. Healthcare infrastructure expansion remains a priority area for institutional investors given India's rising demand for quality medical facilities.
