Parliament examines API accuracy, missing Malaysians in Nepal

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 22 — Parliamentarians addressed multiple issues during today's session in the lower house, focusing on technological systems, citizen welfare, and government digitalisation efforts.

Members scrutinised the accuracy and reliability of the Application Programming Interface (API) system, raising questions about data integrity and system performance. The discussion reflected ongoing parliamentary interest in ensuring Malaysia's critical digital infrastructure meets required standards.

Another pressing concern was the status of Malaysians currently in Nepal who remain unreachable through normal communication channels. Lawmakers sought updates on efforts by relevant government agencies to locate and maintain contact with affected citizens, particularly in light of Nepal's challenging geographical and communication terrain.

Parliament also heard progress reports on GovTech Malaysia's digital transformation initiatives. The government agency's efforts to modernise public services and improve citizen-government interactions formed part of the broader parliamentary review of the country's technological advancement and service delivery improvements.

The session highlighted Parliament's continued oversight role in monitoring both technological systems critical to national operations and the government's commitment to citizen safety and digital innovation.
