KUALA LUMPUR — Parliament will examine several key policy areas affecting Malaysian households and economic development during today's legislative session. The focus will centre on aid provisions for M40 households, which represent the middle 40 percent of income earners, a segment facing increasing cost-of-living pressures. Parliamentarians are expected to scrutinise the adequacy and reach of current assistance schemes targeting this demographic. The discussion will also cover allocations dedicated to Madani schools and the Kampung Angkat programme, both flagship initiatives under the government's broader social and educational agenda. Legislators will seek clarity on implementation progress, fund utilisation and outcomes achieved to date. Additionally, the Dewan Rakyat will assess the effectiveness of Tourism Compliance Focus Zones, an initiative aimed at standardising and improving tourism services in designated areas. The session will provide an opportunity for members to evaluate whether these zones have delivered on their objectives of boosting service quality and visitor experience while ensuring regulatory compliance across the tourism sector.
