PAS doesn't need gambling ban in manifesto, says Kedah MB

Sanusi Md Nor, the Menteri Besar of Kedah, stated that the Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS) does not require including a gambling prohibition clause in its election manifesto, as the party's position on the matter is already firmly established.
According to Sanusi, the party's policies and constitution already contain explicit provisions addressing gambling, rendering additional manifesto language redundant. The remarks suggest PAS views its stance on the issue as sufficiently documented within existing party frameworks.
The statement comes as Malaysian political parties continue to define their positions ahead of electoral campaigns. PAS, which has governed several states, has historically maintained conservative social policies aligned with Islamic principles.
The party's existing constitutional framework and policy documents have long reflected its opposition to gambling activities, a position consistent with its Islamic ideology and broader governance approach in states under its administration.
