A Kedah PAS delegation has levelled accusations of hypocrisy against DAP, contending that the party is selectively raising issues related to former Prime Minister Najib Razak's legal standing. Mardhiyyah Johari, representing the Islamic party in the northern state, questioned the timing and consistency of DAP's positions on the matter. She pointed out that DAP and Pakatan Harapan did not prioritise such concerns when they required UMNO's support to establish the current unity government administration. The statement reflects mounting tensions within Malaysia's coalition administration as partners jostle over political narratives and historical accountability. The dispute underscores broader friction between the various components of the unity government, which brings together former political adversaries under a shared governance framework. PAS and DAP have fundamentally different political ideologies and constituencies, a dynamic that has frequently surfaced in public disagreements despite their participation in the same cabinet structure.
