PAS vice-president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man has emphasised that prohibitions against gambling and other vices are common across all major faiths, noting appreciation from various communities for the party's stance on moral issues.

Tuan Ibrahim stressed that the Islamic party's position on gambling restrictions reflects universal religious values rather than sectarian doctrine. He referenced positive feedback received from members of different faith communities, including Chinese wives who had expressed support for measures against gambling and other social vices.
"All religions share fundamental principles that discourage vice and promote positive moral conduct," Tuan Ibrahim said, underlining that PAS's advocacy for gambling prohibition aligns with broader ethical frameworks found across Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism and other faiths practised in Malaysia.
The PAS leader's remarks highlight common ground between different religious communities on issues of social welfare and moral governance. His comments suggest that opposition to gambling and similar vices transcends religious boundaries, with diverse segments of Malaysian society backing stricter controls.
The statement reflects ongoing discussions within Malaysian political circles about the role of religious values in informing public policy. PAS has long positioned itself as an advocate for moral standards in governance, though Tuan Ibrahim's latest comments emphasise that such positions are not exclusively Islamic in nature.
